Many of my clients are reckoning with the reality that what once worked, at work, at home, in their inner world, no longer quite fits.
Roles shift. Expectations evolve. And the identity that once felt solid can start to feel uncertain.
In a recent podcast conversation, I spoke with contemplative psychotherapist David Redish about how psychedelics and meditation can support people navigating these midlife transitions. Not as escapes, but as tools for awareness and reflection.
We explored how parenthood, burnout, and changing priorities can challenge your sense of self and how psychedelics may temporarily loosen long-held identity structures, offering a new perspective. We also talked about how a regular meditation practice helps people meet the moment with more clarity and steadiness, rewiring how we relate to our thoughts and emotions over time.
We didn’t shy away from complexity. We talked about legality, safety, and the importance of preparation and integration.
This conversation isn’t about dramatic reinvention. It’s about listening more closely to what’s shifting and choosing to respond with greater intention.
If you’re in midlife, what feels different now compared to earlier chapters of your life?
